Ancient Gear Cards Yu Gi Oh?

My friend's birthday is coming soon. Previously about a month ago, I remember that my friend wants Yu Gi Oh cards. He told me a lot about them. He also mentioned cards he likes that follow the name "ancient Gear". I have decided to give him a surprise with these kinds of cards but I cant find which pack to buy in the store. What is the name of the pack of cards that sells ancient gear related cards? What are the cards in them?

P.S. his birthday is next week

Ancient Gear Cards Yu Gi Oh?
Probably your best bet is the Machine Re-volt structure deck.It has the most ancients gear monsters than any structure deck that I know of.
Reply:The Lost Millennium booster pack, but it isn't very likely you'll get what you want.

You are best off buying the Machine Re-Volt structure deck, it includes every Ancient Gear monster except Ancient Gear Knight and Ultimate Gear Golem.

If you can't find it at local stores, look online for the nearest hobby league store and they should have it for around $10.
Reply:The Machine Re-Volt Structure deck is best off getting. It is only $10.00 and try any hobby league stores

How much could i sell 275 (exactly) yu-gi-oh cards for?

i have 275 yu-gi-oh cards and would like to sell them all

i have some really good ones like i would say 2/5 of them are really good ones so how much could i sell them for

How much could i sell 275 (exactly) yu-gi-oh cards for?
Noone can tell you the price without knowing what cards you have. I've paid once over £500 (that's $1000) for a set of some 250 holo cards. Mind you, I've sold them later for over £1500 individually. So get your best cards first and check them here http://yugico.com/ if you get anything more than $50 you can keep checking. At least you'll know you won't be giving them for free.
Reply:It depends what you have, could your edit your question, and add a few of the cards that are in your possion. Basicaly, its supply and demand, so if theres an abundance of the card your wishing to sell, then the prices will drop. Your best bet would be to find people that need the card immeadatly, like people in tournaments, that need that card for a spacific reason, and dosnt have time to look around for better prices. Like I said, list some of your cards, and ill see what i can find out.

Good luck
Reply:no one would know how much... you will have to find out yourself by looking up each price online. if you sell them to a hobby store they will only pay you half the price of the cards they want so they can make a profit when others buy them. Also, they would probably buy a few of your cards. Or you could sell your best ones on ebay
Reply:Demand for Yugioh cards are not as high as they were, say, 4 years ago (I sold all my cards that time, all 200 for $50 T.T) At most you can make $400, if you're willing to sell them in a swapmeet. eBay - I wouldn't recommend since...well, check out the competition

http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll...

At swapmeets, prepare for hagglers. In other words, don't expect to get an ideal amt of money. It would be great if you earn even $100 (I would think :) )
Reply:If the 2/5 of your 275 Yu-Gi-Oh cards are really good

20-30 bucks each... Even better ones can cost 40-50 bucks...

Congratulations your rich!

For those who sell their cards at 200... its either no good cards or you got scammed.
Reply:it depends on HOW good the cards are (throw in the bad ones for some extra dollars)
Reply:1 Japanese yen or 0.009488 U.S. dollars

Are there any online sites online (NO forums/eBay) where I can sell my Yu-Gi-Oh cards? I read about it in a magazine but I don't remember the site. If I recall, the site allows you to trade independently without risk of being scammed. Does anyone know of such a site?

Which Yu-Gi-Oh cards is better between Thestalos and Mobius Monarch?

I don't really know which one is better if I am playing Marco Monarch deck. Since I already have 3 Caius and 1 Razia already and I am not sure which one should I put in 2 Thestalos or 2 Mobius. Can you give me some suggestion? Thanks!

Which Yu-Gi-Oh cards is better between Thestalos and Mobius Monarch?
if i had to pick between them i would go mobius. but both are fine for a macro monarch deck. so i would go 1/1
Reply:i would add in just one of each

Thestalos is personally better, because ur opponent wouldnt exactly have 2 set cards on the field all the time...

but hey Mobius is an awesome monster, getting rid of pesky cards like Mirror Force or Magic Cylinder is great

i would just add in just one of each, 2 is pushing it, but ya its a good way also, 3 Caius is alot also... but still a good thing, anyways just use Mobius and Thestalos

i would add in 2 Mobius tho, his ability is killer, but its just hard wen ur opponent only has 1 card face down, and u have to destroy 2 with Mobius's ability

anyways just try them both out, its always kool to have alot of monarchs
Reply:Try 1 of each. Or go with 2 Mobius if you fear s/t cards.

Thestalos is used for hand control, to rob your opponent of options that could be useful to them later on in the game.
Reply:Put 1 of each.

Otherwise, I would choose 2 Thestalos (I love Hand Advantage)

2 Mobius would help clear the field, which is very useful.
Reply:Depends on what you usually (or expect) to go up against. My personal preference would be 2 Thestalos, so I can go in for hand disruption.

Feel free to go with Mobius if you expect people to lay down S/Ts.
Reply:Put one of each. They both have great effects for diffrent situations, so youshould use both and cover all bases.
Reply:both

Beware there is a lot of people trying to get inexperienced players cards, even there are some thieves specialized in steal colectible cards.
Reply:well, i would need to know what sort of cards they are. They could be worthless cards or they could be really rare.
Reply:well you could get quite alot check the prices on your rarest on ebay
Reply:nothing its cardboard.

no, but whatever someone willing to pay and little kids are willing to pay a lot
Reply:if you have a good number of holos and rares and sell them on e-bay, you could get from 20-50 or even 70 dollars. I have seen it happen before
Reply:depends if ur smart enough in which i doubt u would sell them 4 a reasonable price like a dollar or 2 a card.

How do you determine a Yu-gi-oh cards rariety?

A rare card a silver letters. A limited edition card had gold letters for the name. A 1st edition has different text, and a super rare, Ultra rare and secret rare cards are super shiny.

How do you determine a Yu-gi-oh cards rariety?
usually the more rare cards have shiny looking pictures and words.
Reply:Their are so many printings of the card it is almost impossible to get a card that is actually rare and the only rare cards of any value are the untouched first printings. Most all of them are worthless.

You can take what you have to a comic book dealer they will evaluate if their is any value to what you have.
Reply:In yu gi oh, a card's rarity is classified by the following:

Common-- These cards are simply just regular cards with no holographic picture or text.

Rare-- These cards can be spotted by noticing the card's name is silver and has no holographic picture.

Super rare--These cards have a holographic picture, but their card name is plain with no silver card text like a rare ( shiny picture, plain text name.

Ultra rare--These cards have their card name in gold lettering and also have a shiny picture like a super rare.

Secret Rare--These cards have their text names in a paralell shiny format. The card's name is both gold and silver. Their card pictures are holographic with sparkles.

Ultimate Rare-- These cards are re-prints of regular, super or ultra rares which are less sought after, but are worth more than secret rares in some cases. These cards have a gold card name and a darkened-shiny picture.

Hope that helps.

How much are yu gi oh cards worth?

my younger brother and i are looking to sell out old yu gi oh cards. i remember there used to be magazines (shonnen jump?) that told you the worth of the individual cards. is there a website or magazine that will tell me how much they are CURRENTLY worth?

How much are yu gi oh cards worth?
There's an online price guide where prices are updated every week - http://yugico.com/ and they even show if they go up or down.
Reply:If you are planning to sell out cards, there is a lot more to look for than just the market price. Conditions and reprints matter a lot. Take a look at the ultras that came out in Starters or Reprint Sets. They made a lot of super rare cards into commons. This lowers the price of the original card because people would rather buy a cheaper reprint card rather than a super rare holo because it is cheaper and the effect is the same.

You have two options:

If you want to get rid of them fast as possible and will retire from the game for good. Go to Ebay. You will sell them quick and make fast cash.

If you want to see the cards for their worth....look at these sites.

www.bbtoystore.com

www.inmint.com

www.collectorscache.com
Reply:look on ebay
Reply:Probably not too much right now, in a couple of years when they stop making them im sure the prices will go up on them.
Reply:try the site ideal808.com for prices to go by when selling.

Or if ALL ELSE FAILS, then use EBay.

Your right because i think all the genuine cards have konami on the back

I had two genuine cards and onw of them have konami at the back and the other one doesn't have any

dude no theyt have planes for 265 new card sets already do no.
Reply:not when theres still money to be made from it. thats the way these things are going.
Reply:Yu-Gi-Oh! has been producing cards and still new cards from (circa ?) Every three months, I think, new booster packs are being released. like the TAEV (Tactical Evolution) and the newest one in Japan, the Gladiator Assault (Booster code GLAS). They achieve to make more cards for duelist to buy their merchandise. If old cards were the only ones, no one will exceptionally buy them, no doubt (except for those freakishly addicted collectors).

Oh, and yeah. There's a new Elemental hero in GLAS. Elemental Hero (i think it's) Hellman. A new roid called "Truckroid" wherein the effect is similar to "Sword Hunter." Another one. "Stealthroid." And another, "Expressroid."

ANOTHER FUSION! Elemental Hero Chaos Neos! Elemental Hero Plasma Viceman!
Reply:They probably will someday, although when that day is, we don't know. Likely, print will stop when their costs for making the cards is beyond what they're making from purchases.
Reply:Probably not due to the large popularity it had a couple years back that is still increasing today. I still have a couple of yu-gi-oh cards and i thought i stop collecting them.
Reply:lol na man i dont think there going to stop it i use to like it when i was younger but i grew old of it. they just gonna keep running people insane
Reply:They might and they may not. I see yugioh as an incredibly popular game and the anime is great as well. I guess the only certainty that will tell us is time.
Reply:i dout it yugioh is the most populer cartoon on earth but i think that day i'll stop all together is if they don't make the animi of the same as yugioh the orgenal 'cuzz gx is going outa stial.
Reply:Not likely any time soon as long as sales of the card game don't start to plummet. I'd give the card game 2 years or maybe more before they will discontinue the series unless the show continues on and continues to make Gameboy games or other games of the series.

Though, if the series does discontinue the cards you may already own become more valuable.

How much are yu-gi-oh cards worth?

i'm trying to sell a deck of 69 yu-gi-oh cards they range between

1-7 stars and i have some magic cards and trap cards (i'm in canada)

How much are yu-gi-oh cards worth?
dont sell it, keep it, it could b use full or else just give it away to some kids who like them
Reply:i agree with dark magician of chaos, keep it
Reply:The only things that you have there that are worth more than a dollar are your 1st edition Pot of Greed (and that's only if it gets unbanned, which I doubt), and Double Spell. Everything else you have that's a foil has been reprinted to where the original isn't worth much at all; your rares aren't worth much either.

I have a system that I buy cards in bulk from people for. Everything you have, put together, would only get about $4.40.

Your best bet in salvaging something from those cards is eBay, but even if you sold them all in one group, after fees, you probably wouldn't even have enough to buy one pack. Sorry

Matt

Name some yu-gi-oh cards that have not depreciated in price after a long time.?

i mean, please name some cards that were in booster packs far or somewhat far into the past but still maintain much of their original price. if you can, please name some sites that give information on the prices of yu-gi-oh cards

Name some yu-gi-oh cards that have not depreciated in price after a long time.?
Oddly enough, Gate Guardian is still relatively expensive. In the realm of playability, Dark Magician of Chaos and Jinzo were both expensive until the release of Gold Series, which harmed both of their values (though 1/es of those cards still maintain some value; DMoC at about $40 and Jinzo probably about $30). Monster Reborn hit an all-time high right after it became unbanned, with LOB 1/e Mint cards hitting about $100 (Currently they're sitting at about $15). Morphing Jar from Tournament Pack 2 is also really expensive, cashing in at $90-$100 for a Mint copy.

In reality, though, most older cards are all but worthless with the current metagame. New stuff is so much better, so people don't run the old stuff, thus making them a lot less expensive.
Reply:as far as i know ... jinzo from the PSV is still worth about £20 (i dno how much it was worth when it first came out tho) ... first edition monster reborn from legend of blue eyes booster is worth about £15-£20 ... hope this helps
Reply:isn't it obvious

JINZO

DARK MAGICIAN OF CHAOS

and a couple more thousand commons that are still since yugioh started are only worth 2p each

I have over a hundred yu-gi-oh cards that I want to get rid of?
Well, it all depends on what area you are in! If you live in an area with only retail stores (target, wal-mart, etc...) and no card shops, there are plenty more options. My personal suggestion is to go to a Yu-gi-oh tournament or event...I know that in the United states on August 4th and 5th, there will be a sneak preview for Tactical Evolution...there are sellers there that you could sell to, or you can become your own seller...good luck!
Reply:I would go to a flea market. You generally have to wake up really early, but you can sell them to an overzealous kid.

OR you could do something even cooler and make a crazy end table out of them. Take 4 pieces of plywood, cut them so they will end up in a cube when you nail them together. Then take all the cards and glue them on the three visible sides. Finally, take some clear varnish or acrylic and paint over it to seal. I bet you could sell it to a gamer for a ton of money.
Reply:just recycle them
Reply:Ideal808.com,yugiohetc.com,and maybe pojo.com.Best of luck though

What do you actualy Do with yu-gi-oh cards?
Yu-Gi-Oh is a trading card game. Meaning you can collect, trade, and play with the cards.

Go to http://www.upperdeckentertainment.com/yu... and download the interactive demo. Also, check out the FAQ's. The website is a very good Yu-Gi-Oh resource. Much better than it used to be.

Note: Don't use being a girl as an excuse for not knowing something. I'm female and have played Yu-Gi-Oh from the beginning. There are plenty of female duelists out there. Alot of them suck at Yu-Gi-Oh because they're embarassed to ask for help or because they use it as a method for meeting boys. Play Yu-Gi-Oh because you want to and play it well.
Reply:There is a game that you play with them. If you look you can see the point value or something like that you see how many points they are worth and you fight with other cards or something...I used to know when they were cool. But at the moment they are not very kool. I know this dude with like 200 cards. He plans to sell them on ebay. Well I like the first persons answer!!

i don't know where i put them.

it has been a long time.
Reply:Keep them out of the way of a toddler who likes chewing and ripping them when left out the box, as my 7 year old will tell you! Don't actually know what you are meant to do with them, he just lines them all up and counts them, and is popular at school when he gets a shiny card!! guess I need to take some time out to learn.
Reply:go google and search this : yugioh guide then chose the first one there u have it my site wish u good luck playing it
Reply:Yugioh is more popular, so I'll answer your question on this particular game. It's hard to start playing the card game now, since the game's been around for awhile. Check out more info on the game, including the Forbidden and Limited list on the link below if you want to play.

If you are REALLY curious about playing, buy a structure deck to start yourself off. They cost $10-$15, and they have a rule book, game mat and cards based on a certain deck strategy to help you win. (Make sure you discard the forbidden cards) You'll need to buy some booster packs (around $4 each) to help out your deck. The structure deck also has a guide that shows you which packs work best for your structure deck. Find and attend a tournament nearby (try to find one with a free entry; usually they cost $5 to enter).

There may be some places with seperate tournaments: one for beginners and one for experts. And don't be embarassed about playing it; I know some adults who play the game.

But don't go spending money on these cards if you can't afford it or just want to collect them. I play it because I like to converse with people and make new friends.
Reply:u just play games
Reply:i thing you should see if on of you friend if they want to trade cards with there. that what i would do.
Reply:taunt 6 year olds with them;)
Reply:the easyest way to learn is to go 2 yugioh-card.com then you start by buying a deck, any type you like and it will come with a rule book that you can read and it tells you all you need 2 know, but it mtakes atleast one year to know how 2 play well ;) like me! n my spellcaster deck I created,
Reply:alot of these answers are just stupid. maybe they didn't understand the question. but i'll be glad to clarify it for you. yugioh is the best game ever created. if you really want to learn how to play. buy yourself a structure deck from wal-mart, go home open it, and read the rule handbook that comes with it. it's basically a strategy game( if you like strategy!) it's very simple! each card has detail on how to use them. all you need to understand is how to play them. the book explains it all. if you really want that experience, you'll have to duel someone. i can help you piece together a deck that would make a yugioh champ's deck jealous. if this is what you're really looking for just hit me up,ok!

raleighthug1969@yahoo.com
Reply:You don't get laid with them thats for sure.
Reply:It some kind of battle, I used to play. Its kind of complicated- I'm sure that there is a site somewhere that can help. Just type Yu-gi-oh game rules into a search.
Reply:they are basically just card games with weird images on them and each game has a set of rules and you just see who wins.. think about poker deck but with funny images on them and different rules

If you think there are some valuable cards, check their values individually at http://yugico.com/ i.e., otherwise just put in on eBay with low start price and you'll find out :)
Reply:You can sell them at Ebay and it also depends how good the cards are. ;) Good luck.
Reply:it depends on wat kind of cards they are.

try ebay or amazon.
Reply:depends what cards they are. and you can sell them on ebay and if they are good i might buy them.
Reply:well if the cards are in great condition id sell them on ebay for about 12 dollors for all 78 cards... good luck
Reply:you have to figure out whethre the cards are rare, super rare, ultra rare and ultimate rare then you can sell at appriate prices (its in the order of ascending) so if you have alot of ultimate rare then you can sell them for alot of money but you cant sell common cards for alot of money to figure out if its rare then check out this website and classify them tcgplayer.com usually rare cards are holographic, super rare are holo and have silver writing, ultra rare are holo and have gold writing and ultimate rare are holo and gold writing but the pic is darker if the card does have any of these things then it is common
Reply:u can give them to me for free lol but serisly it depends on the cards go to a card shop and get them apraise or look up their price online. ebay or a card shop

i wanna know what collectors look for in a card to determine it's value. could some of the factors be star-levels and rarity?

How and where should I sell my Yu-Gi-Oh Cards?

Should I get the clear plastic housings? What should I look for to determin card value?

How and where should I sell my Yu-Gi-Oh Cards?
You should sell them on Ebay.com! To determine the value of the card you should see how many stars the card has first. If it has three or less stars it should be 1 dollar. If it has four to six stars it should be 4 dollars. Then finally if it has seven or more stars then it should be 10 dollars! PS Hope you sell your cards
Reply:Well, Ebay is the definite solution. Ebay is the answer to all our problems. There's even some offline Ebay stores in some areas.

Or you could just make your own store.
Reply:There's an official value catalogue, or just randomly put some together and sell them for whatever you want at Ebay, that is the most fun ^.^
Reply:Ok, i'm a former card seller myself and i'm only 14. Here is how you determine the value. Look at the card, is it in good condition? Is the card 1st edittion? Is the card rare? is the card strong? would it be use full to someone else or is it crap?

If all of these is yes but the last one you have something around a $50 card in you'r hands. As for where i don't know who would take them. Even my stores wont take them. Maybe ebay or just sell like a garrage sale or something.
Reply:ebay ;-)
Reply:search in www.google.com,by giving selling cards.you will get better results
Reply:try ebay
Reply:I tried selling my Yu-Gi-Oh cards and Pokemon cards on ebay. I got no takers and had to pay the fees. I don't think ebay is the way to go for this type of item. If you have a card store in your town (usually sell baseball cards), try them. They may not buy them but allow you to put them on consignment.

I found some Yu Gi Oh cards on eBay. They only cost 14 dollars, I want mom to buy them how can I persuade her?

I found a deck on eBay and they only cost 2 dollars and 12 shipping. They are very cheap compared to the other ones I found. Yet I am scared to ask my mom to buy them for me. How can I persuade her? Please help me find some ideas to make her buy them for me.

I found some Yu Gi Oh cards on eBay. They only cost 14 dollars, I want mom to buy them how can I persuade her?
You don't have to rely on your mom, look for odd jobs, or offer to babysit some toddler in your neighborhood, or knock on people's doors and say you'll walk their dog for $2 or $3 per half hour. When I was young, needed $$, I took an 8 ½ by 11 inch plain-white paper, cut it up into 2 ½ by 4 inch strips, wrote my first name, phone number, and "Babysitting %26amp; dogwalking service" on them, and I was making $$, getting 1 or 2 calls a day. Then I made the stupid mistake of telling my best friend why I had so much $$ all of a sudden. She tells her friends after she had promised not to tell anyone, and before I know it, half the elementary school had passed out advertisements to all their neighbors, offering the same service I was. I'd be lucky to get 1 call a week. I should had kept it a secret, and just told my friends I had a rich BF, and I can't tell who he is because he's over 18, and can go to jail for seeing me.

Anyway, to ask your mom is begging. It would show more maturity if you instead offer to do more chores for $$, or a spending allowance in return. Course, this may backfire on you. My best friend tried this approach, and her mom and dad said "OK, I'll pay you for doing chores, but I also have to charge you for rent and food. If you look at how much it is to rent a room, you'll need to get a job to afford the rent I'm going to charge you." So asking your parents for spending allowance only works if they're earning good $$, and can easily afford to give you, maybe $10 allowance a week in exchange for doing all your chores, and keeping your school grades up. If your parents seems to be struggling on $$, don't bother asking. Look at doing odd jobs for friends and neighbors instead. Working to earn $$ shows more maturity, than going around asking, or begging for $$.

My 1st BF told me he had earned $$ when he was 10, hanging out by the grocery supermarket and helping women to load their groceries into their car. He'd walk up and ask "Can I help you with all these groceries?" and not ask for $$. When they accept your offer, it implies there's a tip. It was rare than women would accept his help, then not give tip. He'd help 12 to 15 women, and 1 would not give a tip. Course, he had also borrowed his brother's outgrown boyscout uniform to impersonate a boyscout. So the women thought he was doing this to earn a merit badge, when in fact, he was trying not to get asked by the store manager to leave. The 1st time he did this, the store manager felt he was bothering the customers, %26amp; asked him to leave. So the 2nd time, he went to another grocery store, but this time, wearing a boyscout uniform. You're OK to impersonate a boyscout, so long as a real boyscout who belongs to the branch league your patch says you're a member of, doesn't come along and say "We just had a meeting last night, and last week, and the week before that. How come I never saw you in any of our meetings?"
Reply:Why is the shipping so high? a deck shouldn't cost that much to ship unless its overseas and even then I don't think its that much a deck of cards is small and light. Have Mom check out where this deck is coming from if its not in your country, look for cards selling within your country the postage would be much cheaper.

How do i know if my yu gi oh cards are real?

i have slifer, obelisk and the winged dragon of ra and i dont think any of them are real. sliferlooks great from the front and has the little silver thing in the bottom but is not red on the back, and the other 2 cards have a totally different pictue to the ones on ebay and they do not have blue or yellow backs or the little silver thing and they look fake. could any 1 tel me if they are fake and how to tell if a card is real. thank you.

How do i know if my yu gi oh cards are real?
if the bottom right of your card has a slver square thats original

they're not real because.... if you put it down theres no monster that exists am i right?
Reply:if they dont have corrisponding back colours they are most defiantly fake Report Abuse

Reply:Well, i'd be probably impossible for you to have even one of the egyptian gods or ever seen a real egyptian god card, so those are definately fake. I got a few fake cards myself and i can tell my reals from my fakes by their back, because good fakes only differ from their backs which are in a lighter brown then the real ones. You also have fakes that are much thicker than real ones but have the same back, these cards are probably just plain paper stuck onto a real card, and if you manage to pull of the paper you'll probably see a noob 500-300 no-effect monster beneath it.

Hope this was a bit of a help.
Reply:Well there are many ways to tell if a card is fake, first check the number that is between the card and the text, if it has a number like DOD-EN001 for winged dragon of ra, YMA-EN001 for slifer, JMP-EN004 for obelisk. If so, in the bottom left corner of the card, if it says "This card cannot be used in a duel", and it looks real if you compare it with some real cards that you have that you know is real, then the gods are real.
Reply:Real egypian gods have blue(oblisk) Red(slifer) yellow(RA)

other wyes the cards are fake

like everyone else is saying, try ebay, or locally, if u have any flea markets in your area, try there. with ebay, u might get more money, because a lot of people would probably look over your auction page. and i know A LOT!!!!! of people use ebay, but good luck!! : )

What do I need to know before buying Yu-gi-oh cards?

My 7 year old son is started to get interested in the cards. What are some good places to buy them? From looking at ebay for a little while, it seems like fake cards are a problem as well. What does "no logos on the back" mean?

What do I need to know before buying Yu-gi-oh cards?
First off, bookmark this website- http://entertainment.upperdeck.com/yugio... . Its the official website and most of the questions you'll have about gameplay can be answered by reading the various pages on this site. Also, bookmark- http://www.netrep.net , its basically a rules database for individual cards.

As for where to buy the cards, only buy from big chains like Wal-Mart and Target or local hobby stores. They never carry fake cards and so you know you're getting authentic product. To find your local hobby store(s) look up Collectibles, Gaming, Hobbies, and Comic Books in the phone book. Those headings are likely to yield a place or two where cards are sold and played. Go there before going to a chain store b/c its likely the cards are cheaper. If you buy from eBay remember two things, read the listing very throughly and don't buy if they don't have a scan of the card. The Egyptian God cards have no logo on the back of them and are the only cards printed by Upper Deck Entertainment to do so. They're not legal for play because they have no effects and so don't bother buying them. ^_^

When you buy the cards, buy two Structure decks. Two because your son is going to want someone to play with and who could be better than Dad? :o) Warrior's Triumph and Spellcaster's Judgement would be good because they're on pretty much even ground and are fun decks to play with.

Note: Make sure you know where the cards are at all times. Your son will want to take them to school to show off to his friends but that will likely result in some level of theft. Also, make sure he plays with people closer to his own age. Older players can be quite mean to younger players and are generally at a much higher skill level. By playing among his peers your son will gain more confidence and improve at his own pace.
Reply:Rival - Really good answer as well, thanks for the help! Report Abuse

Reply:The new packs, starterpacks, and tin cans are good and get the yu-gi-oh gx brand.
Reply:no logo's or markings on the back of the card mean that the card is most likely a counter fit card, unless it's a god card (they have different color backs) your best bet to start out with is go to wal-mart and pick up a Preconstucted deck of cards or two and start from there. to find good boosters or single cards that you need to top of a good deck. find a local gameing supply store and see what they have in stock, and even find people willing to trade cards.
Reply:do not, what ever you do, buy the STARTER decks. note the key word - STARTER. structure decks are OK but starter decks lack strategy and good cards for that matter. i believe that seven is too young to begin playing because the sad truth is he will be beaten alot. what you could do though is, straight away, introduce him to the competetive side of YuGiOh rather than the casual. show him sites like www.metagame.com or www.pojo.com and attempt to learn the game with him. you will learn a lot faster than he will and will be able to explain it to him. there is a lot of strategy involved in YuGiOh (game play and deck building). this is very difficult for a seven year old to learn. you also need to explain things to him like card advantage and play order.

as for actually buying the cards:

a local card shop or hobbie store is a good place to start but will often try to rip you off and get you to buy the items no one else will. stores such as Big W stock YuGiOh cards as well.

as for what cards to buy:

begin with buy several of the same structure deck. this will allow you to get multiples of the key cards. then, trade with other players for the cards you need. if you are willing to buy cards from eBay, by all means, go ahead but as you sadi- fake cards are an issue. read articles on recognising fake cards on the net (pojo.com and metagame.com). generally, if you compare real cards to fake ones you can general tell that its fake- they look dodgey.

if you dont attempt to learn the game with him he will find it very difficult (as i did) and it might take several years to get good.

note: YuGiOh is not cheap. to build a tournament worthy deck you must be willing to fork out at least $150, often a lot more. buying cards from eBay will be a lot easier to get what you want (as apposed to trading or buying booster packs).

have fun playing YuGiOh with your son. hope this helps

Rival-%26gt;
Reply:NO logos, not real. Try shopping at target, or walmart, or something. If not, try and find one of youre friends with kids, and ask if their kid is still interested in them. If they are, try asking where they got them from.
Reply:I wouldnt buy him any. If you want to get him into a card game. That is going to stay around for a while..And maye one day have some cards taht are worth money. Get him smoe Magic The Gathering.. Now that is a game.. Fun and it is cheaper. Than Yugo.. Trust me I have played for well since the begning
Reply:"No logos on the back" means that the Konami and Yu-Gi-Oh labels aren't there.

Many of the "God Cards" as they're called are fake, never buy them.

Honestly, the best place to buy them are at local super markets. They tend to carry them. If you're looking to buy individual cards, try Comic/Card stores. We have one near here called The Great Escape, it might be a chain, try looking it up.
Reply:make sure they arent going out of style yet
Reply:Go to www.mikeloda.com you can get anywhere from single cards, boxes, sleeves, tins you name it he's got it. i order all the time from this guy hes reliable no fake stuff and cheaper than ebay..but i can't lie his prices for the Air paladin and volcanic rocket still made me wince. Other than that good paly to shop.

How do you tell the difference between super rare and ultimate rare Yu-Gi-Oh cards?

No such thing. How can something that's still in production be "super rare" or "ultimate rare"? They're jerking you around.

How do you tell the difference between super rare and ultimate rare Yu-Gi-Oh cards?
shiney ones i guess
Reply:Super Rare cards' picture is holo but their name are not. Like Graceful Charity. Ultimate Rare Cards have holo pictures and their names are written in gold. Like Mirror Force. Foil Image, black title, super rare. foil image gold title, ultimate rare. Foil title, Foil Image, probaly a Ultra Promo Rare, comes from Tin Sets, Video Games, etc.
Reply:the Yu-Gi-Oh system of rarity:

Common-no foil whatsoever.

Rare-Silver lettering, non-foil picture.

Super Rare-generally a dulled card face with a foiled picture.

Ultra Rare-Gold lettering, foiled picture.

Secret Rare(discontinued)/Promo Rare-Silvery lettering thats different from the silver of normal Rare cards, a foiled picture that has a much more faceted look.

Ultimate Rare-Golden lettering in a textured relief, a foiled reliefed picture.

Parallel Rare(these are given away in the Hobby League)-Golden lettering, same faceted foil picture as Secret Rares.

Short Print Common-these look no different from normal commons but were either added to or deleted from certain print runs.

Notes on Ultimate rares: All rare cards in a set have an Ultimate Rare version. Boxes usually have 1-2 Ultimate Rares. Pack weighing is an uneffective method of getting Ultimates because Ultimate Rares weigh the same as a normal Rare. *lol* Here's a blub on the foil cards with black lettering: There's only one card that's foil with black lettering: 1st Edition Dark Spirit of The Silent. Its pretty rare but not worth much more that the correct version of the card.
Reply:The diference is that the ultimate rare have more value that the super rares and they look cooler
Reply:go to www.yugioh-card.com / web surch singel cards and the cards you can by thair are listed: comen, rare, super rare, ultument rare and limetid edishion
Reply:Here is a website that will help you i hope http://www.pokeorder.com/index.html
Reply:everything on it is holo, the name and stuff, super and ultimate cust both expensive and sometimes in the cards it says limited version

What is a good place to sell pokemon and yu-gi-oh cards?
Since the craze has died down quite a bit, I think it would be in your best interest to try a place where those few remaining die hard fans will have access which I think would be the internet. I would research the current going rates for your cards (you'll probably still be able to get a decent amount if you have those ultra rares or special edition cards) and I would try ebay. You might also look into your local pennysaver or even a yard/garage sale. You might also look into attending comic/anime conventions where current fans of the shows attend and try selling to them.

I have 1,067 Yu-gi-oh cards and want to get rid of them all. I just don't know where to sell them. I checked on Ebay and they don't give you enough for what they are worth. So would a card shop give you any money for them. If not, where should I sell them besides Ebay.

Would a card shop give you any money for trading in Yu-gi-oh cards. If So how much.?
okay, here it is.........email me today, at erick9214@yahoo.com i want you to ship cards, but before i want you to tell me how i am going to send you paypment of 700 dollars, let me know and give me your adress. i will send usps, so that means that you have to send cards usps, with dilivery conformation and we will both be happy! i will give you conformation number, but email me asap!@
Reply:First off don't pay attention to the first answer....looked kinda shady. eBay you get lucky on sometimes for specific cards only. eBay most of the times when it is just a huge amount of cards just won't sell that high. People are looking mostly for certain cards. Your next best bet would be to check out local card stores that deal with Yugioh. Or even local duelists that might want the cards. Email me with a decent sized list of what you have in regards to Super Rares, Ultra Rares, Secret Rares and Ultimate Rares and can go from there to help you out with selling them.
Reply:It really depends on what cards you have the better the card the more money you will get for them. Also the condition of the cards matters a great deal. As for somewhere to sell them i would say some site on the internet that will sell your cards for you. That is all i can say.
