I have many from back when I used to play in elementary school, yes they're quite old, most of them are from the first few booster packs that came out and I have no use for them now. I have many really, really rare cards but where can I sell them for a decent price without getting ripped off?

How many attack points and defence points does wing dragon of ra has on yu gi oh cards?
The ENGLISH God Cards have nothing but flavor text, but the original cards made in japan have these effects written on them: (translated roughly into English)

All three cards say: 3 tributes are required to Special summon. Once on the field, this card is unaffected by Spell Cards, Trap Cards, and the effects of monsters. Attacks can be negated/prevented for only 1 turn. If Special Summoned from the graveyard, this card returns to the graveyard during the End Phase.

I say most of the starter decks are useless try going for the any of the structure decks. But if i were you wait a week till the new dark emperor Structure Deck (released in April 2nd 08) heres a really accurate deck list of it. (really accurate, NOT 100% accurate though )

If your gonna sell it on ebay, search that card at ebay then go around he same price. people ARE gonna buy. Trust me. if they dont have the card on ebay, its probably worth half a penny, or worth ridiculous emounts... also go to card selling websites or stores and search or ask them. It had always helped me when I wanted to know how much a card is worth by going to my local hobby store and asking the storekeeper. They are at most times very kind and can give a very good estimate. who knows they might even want to buy it off you if the condition is right. also, make shur if your cards are is mint condition, semi-mint, or bad. ebay buyers will get ticked off if they bought a Jinzo that has been in uknowwhere for 50 bucks.

Have you ever heard of Chaos Emperor Dragon or Black Luster Solider Envoy of the Beginning? They had incredible effects that could win you the game and all you had to do is discard a few light and dark monsters from your grave yard to bring them out.
Of course there is Yata although he is weaker then the two mentioned above if you attack your opponent then he can't draw a new card on his next turn.
These cards are all banned though.

Reply:The sacred beast cards are better than the god cards, for one their legal to use in duels and two out of the three sacred beast cards have 4000atk and def points. They are something to watch out for.

When this card battles another monster, during damage calculation increase the ATK of this card by the original ATK of the opponent's monster. During the End Phase after this card was involved in battle, remove this card from play.
Meaning, if someone has Ra on the field with 5400 atk points. When you attack with mirage knight, its attack is 8200. (5400+2800) You can get this card in the Dark Crisis booster pack.

The "price guides" will over-value every card. In reality, you can't move stuff like that anymore. They're too old, the market is saturated. Just like Pokemon cards, they aren't worth the paper they're printed on. Or the shinies....

The "price guides" will over-value every card. In reality, you can't move stuff like that anymore. They're too old, the market is saturated. Just like Pokemon cards, they aren't worth the paper they're printed on. Or the shinies....

You tell that a few are Gold lettered....those ones are Ultimate Rares(2 Princess Curran, 1 Herald of Green Light) and Ultra Rare (Chaos Command Magician). The Limited Edition Ultimate Dragon is actually not all that expensive to buy right now. The Silver lettered cards are Rare cards and don't sell that well. Best bet is to find a collector/duelist that lives near you and would want to buy them off you or to sell them on Ebay. Put up a full list and explain that they will be sold as one full lot. You might not get all that much for them but you never know when people bid on them like that. Note: Cards with alot of dark colors have been released fairly recently and so its hard to judge whether its real or not. Dark World Dealings and Card Trader are both examples of this. Just look for the usual signs that the card is authentic and you'll be ok.

Reply:OK. Here's the deal. To know the card if it is a super rare one, all you need to do is to ask the seller how much he buy this or what kind of card it is.
Reply:You should also know that they all have a holographic seal in the corner of each card, the first run of cards are gold seals, and all other printing are silver. If it does not have this holographic seal then it is a fake. The seal is very small, but is in the right hand corner if i remember right.

Reply:OK. Here's the deal. To know the card if it is a super rare one, all you need to do is to ask the seller how much he buy this or what kind of card it is.
Reply:You should also know that they all have a holographic seal in the corner of each card, the first run of cards are gold seals, and all other printing are silver. If it does not have this holographic seal then it is a fake. The seal is very small, but is in the right hand corner if i remember right.

4- Local tournaments, such as Shonen Jumps (In America) are always filled with people buying, trading and selling cards. Plus the store owners usually have a collection so they are usually looking to buy decent cards in mint 2 near mint condition.
Be careful not to under or overprice your cards. You could use the 'Becket Yugioh Unofficial Collector' magazines as they have a great price guide as well as great information and ideas on the ever progressive world of YUGIOH for players, collectors and those looking to get out of YUGIOH

also, I know elemental heros are popular with younger kids, and winged kuriboh lv10 was featured in the yugioh cartoons (little brother watches it, i'm not THAT nerdy =P) so is probably popular, and I KNOW chimeratech overdragon is popular. the non holo one runs around $3 on ebay, and the holofoil one (the shiny one) runs about $10.
don't underestimate the cards with fewer stars. they may not have much attack power, but some of them have really good effects, and so they run for high prices. also, the cards with purple and green borders (magic and trap cards) often are good. a general rule of thumb: if it's shiny, it probably sells for a decent amount.

Try ebay. Also, try not to get suckered by high shipping rates. Many sellers will try to tack on high shipping rates to make a sell but its not worth it. Ebay also has stores on their website which will allow you to skip the bidding part. Or try to google an retail chain that will ship to where you are

I am thinking of compeating in the yu-gi-oh world championships I know i have a very good deck of monsters but what are the best trap and spell cards i could use and by the way make sure you don't tell me any that are on the forbidden list because then i won't be able to use them and please could you let me now if there limited cards thanks

Is someone who writes a column on Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards in our school newspaper weird ? Is that weird ?
he thinks people like his column. he also acts weird. He does nothing else but research yy-gi-oh cards. is there something wrong with this ?

Is there actually some way to know if you are getting a holo out of a pack of cards(Yu-Gi-Oh)?
I want to know. I choose packs simply at random, but there are just some people who get good cards without even trying. But, that got me thinking, is there some way to actually tell if you are to get something good or not?

theres 3 ways i know of, scaling, bending, and freezing.
scaling would use a small diamond grade scale to compare weights of packs. the heavier pack would most likely contain a holo. holo cards have extra material in them which wil make them weigh more.
bending is slightly bending a pack to feel for resistance. the more resistant packs would have the holo. the holo material makes that card thicker compared to others making it less easier to bend.
freezing is putting a pack in the freezer for a hour or so. the holo pack will inflate and get puffy. i never tried this, so i dont know the logic behind it.

Reply:Not really to tell you the truth. If you are really that concerned I have two websites that will help you. Yugiohmint.com is there for you to purchase cards. Yugiohcardguide.com is there for you to look at all the booster packs and see what are in them. Those to go hand in hand. Look and the card guides and see which boosters you have been getting and see what is actually in them. If you don't want to buy any off of Yugiohmint you can still use the card guide to your advantage and buy the certain booster packs you are looking for.
P.S. You are also garunteed with a Rare card in every booster pack.

also its not that easy either... some ultra rare cards curve an sort of bend after awhile... so if the packs are old then feel if the packs are slightly thicker or bigger then the rest, then u'll have a rare card in it... well "Rarer" card in it... but that is pretty hard to know...
i know the 2nd and 4th last packs usually do have better cards, i did that with the Chazz Princeton boosters, and i got Ring of Defense out of the 4th last pack, and a Armed Dragon Level 7 out of the 2nd last pack... i got Destiny Draw out of the 2nd last pack in the Aster Phoenix packs and Eternal Dread
i might of just got lucky, but i always do that, cuz i just recently got Chythonian Emperor Dragon in Tactical Evolution by choosing the 2nd last pack of the box, and Dark Horus in the Phantom of Chaos booster packs
anyways thats all i can say, some say the best cards are in the middle, but hey u never know right? i might of just got lucky

Chain Speed 1: Normal Spell, Continuous Spell, Equip Spell, Field Spell, and all types of monster effects except Multi-Trigger ones.
(This speed is the slowest)
Chain Speed 2: Quick-Play Spell, Multi-Trigger Monster Effect, and all traps except counter traps.
(This speed beats Speed 1 and other Speed 2 cards)
Chain Speed 3: Counter Traps.
(Fastest speed, only beaten by another counter trap)

In the Yu-Gi-Oh card game, how do you know which is the correct lower level monster to sacrifice?
only certain monsters need certain other monsters to be tributed. the majority of monsters can be tribute summoned with any monster. say you have a lord of D. and a destiny hero - defender on the field (2 random cards). you can tribute them for blue-eyes white dragon. even if you had a mobius the frost monarch on the field (which requires 1 tribute), you could still tribute it and a Lord of D. for the blue-eyes. it doesn't matter which monsters, as long as they don't have a condition in which they can't be tributed, or the tributed monsters needs to be summoned with a special condition. an example is archlord zerato. this is his effect:
"This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by offering 1 face-up "Warrior of Zera" on your side of the field as a Tribute while "The Sanctuary in the Sky" is on the field."
Some monsters cant be tribute summoned at all. they have special conditions for them to be summoned instead of sacrficing a monster. an example of this is doom dozer. its effect is:
"This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by removing from play 2 Insect-Type monsters in your Graveyard."
since in any other occasion other than when the card says otherwise, you can tribute any monster, you pretty much want to tribute the monster that does you the least good.

they have to meet certain requirements for card effects.
Reply:it depends on what the card says, if it says you can't normal or set then you need to specail it, if it says you can't specail it then you can't unless it says by a card effect, but if your talking about which cards to sacrifice for a tribute summon but don't want to use any of the monsters you already have on the field and your stuck choosing do what i do.
1- find the lowest un need cards you don't need on the field
2- if all your monsters have effects you need, pick some with the worst effects
3- if you have monsters you never want to tribute i suggest you add in cards that say "this cards can act as 2 tributes for ____ type of monster" into your deck
(i used #3 for my gilford the lightning, i added in kiaser sea horse to keep more monsters on the field, since you need 3 tributes to use gilfords the lightning effect)

In the Yu-Gi-Oh card game, how do you know which is the correct lower level monster to sacrifice?
only certain monsters need certain other monsters to be tributed. the majority of monsters can be tribute summoned with any monster. say you have a lord of D. and a destiny hero - defender on the field (2 random cards). you can tribute them for blue-eyes white dragon. even if you had a mobius the frost monarch on the field (which requires 1 tribute), you could still tribute it and a Lord of D. for the blue-eyes. it doesn't matter which monsters, as long as they don't have a condition in which they can't be tributed, or the tributed monsters needs to be summoned with a special condition. an example is archlord zerato. this is his effect:
"This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by offering 1 face-up "Warrior of Zera" on your side of the field as a Tribute while "The Sanctuary in the Sky" is on the field."
Some monsters cant be tribute summoned at all. they have special conditions for them to be summoned instead of sacrficing a monster. an example of this is doom dozer. its effect is:
"This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by removing from play 2 Insect-Type monsters in your Graveyard."
since in any other occasion other than when the card says otherwise, you can tribute any monster, you pretty much want to tribute the monster that does you the least good.

Reply:it depends on what the card says, if it says you can't normal or set then you need to specail it, if it says you can't specail it then you can't unless it says by a card effect, but if your talking about which cards to sacrifice for a tribute summon but don't want to use any of the monsters you already have on the field and your stuck choosing do what i do.
1- find the lowest un need cards you don't need on the field
2- if all your monsters have effects you need, pick some with the worst effects
3- if you have monsters you never want to tribute i suggest you add in cards that say "this cards can act as 2 tributes for ____ type of monster" into your deck
(i used #3 for my gilford the lightning, i added in kiaser sea horse to keep more monsters on the field, since you need 3 tributes to use gilfords the lightning effect)

I have alot of yu-gi-oh cards, but I just don't know what kind of deck to make. I like the guardian cards, but i also like the toon cards, the destiny board cards, and the spirit cards. Which deck would be better to use in in a tournament?

nice! i like the old skool, thats what i use. but i wouldnt use any of those. i remember i used to use a toon deck but nowadays there's way too many cards to foil that deck. i use spellcaster deck. it works really good and i made it to regionals with it but lost to a killer control deck. some of the monsters i have are

This guide gives the value of all the baseball cards. Maybe there is something like this for your collection. Might go online and google. Sorry I don't have any sites.
My advice is to keep the collection. Usually as times go by, things get harder to find and the value increases.

Reply:In my experience, (in a PC game) I successfully ritual summoned "Relinquished" via "Black Illusion Ritual." I activated its effect and I got Kaiba's "Vorse Raider" and he attacked it with Blue Eyes, so Vorse Raider was destroyed, not Relinquished. (probably its effect is active once per turn)
(Combo, just in case you need to know something: Add "Sonic Bird" and "Senju of the Thousand Hands" to your deck so ritual summoning can be easier. One card gets the ritual spell and one gets the ritual monster.)

I collect Yu-gi-oh cards. I'd say on a scale from 1 to 10 on how good I am, I'm 7.5.

Reply:i collect yugioh cards, and have a fair amount of decks, maybe 13 in total, 10 advanced format, 2 traditional format and 1 totally illegal. i cant really tell how good i am, i'm able to hold my own and sometimes get on winning streaks, but nobody and no deck is unbeatable. so all i can say is that i'd definitly be able to give you a challenge, and might be able to surprise with never before seen tactics. but like i said nobody is unbeatable, and its all to do with the luck of the draw.
Reply:I do collect. Japanese cards at first, but then I will slowly shift to English Cards. I'll even buy a Structure Deck by the end of September! And I'm excited!
Reply:yea i play yugioh and im getting good at since my WHOLE school is playing now but, i've lost from time to time
Reply:I am pretty good. I can beat one of my friends at any time, but one of my friends is as good or better than me. I even came in second in a small tournament!!!

What is the purpose of Yu-gi_Oh cards? Is it an innocent game, or evil in some way?
The cards look really gruesome. Is it okay for my son who is 8 to be collecting these cards? whats the point? Is it an innocent game? I mean, I remember collecting Garbage Pail kids when I was a kid, but that was more nasty looking than evil looking. what do you think?

(remeber hes not a girl so he wont admit his feelings) Getting in touch with your inner child can help make your bond with him stronger. If you dont approve of these cards simply give him something else 2 do.
