I want to buy this super rare Yu-Gi-Oh card on eBay and I need to know if it's really super rare, How can I tell?
How do I know if a Yu-Gi-Oh card is super rare?
Super Rares have a matte, fully holographic picture and the rest of the card has a somewhat matte appearance. Note: Cards with alot of dark colors have been released fairly recently and so its hard to judge whether its real or not. Dark World Dealings and Card Trader are both examples of this. Just look for the usual signs that the card is authentic and you'll be ok.
Reply:Common=black lettering with no shine on picture
Rare=silver letter but a non-shine picture
Super Rare=black lettering and a holographic(shiny) picture
Ultra Rare=gold lettering and a holographic picture
Ultimate Rare=gold lettering, raised holographic picture and if it is a monster card then the stars of the level will be gold
Secret Rare=holographic sparkling picture with what appears to be silvery rainbow lettering...these can be from a set(eg Injection Fairy Lily, Jinzo and Dark Magician Girl from their respective sets...Jinzo is PSV and DMG is MFC), from a Collectible Tin(eg Hamon, Uria, Raviel, Cyber Dragon are a few of the newest) or normally a game promo(eg Harpie's Feather Duster, Red Eyes Black Metal Dragon, Harpie's Pet Dragon, Metalmorph are just to name a few)
Make sure to pay attention for the normal signs to make sure it is a fully authentic Yugioh card as well....hope this helps out some.
PS. Also make sure to pay attention for oddly cut cards as well...I own a few cards that were gotten in CRV packs and one edge has no black to it and the other is wider black strip instead. If questions about that send email to jprepka@yahoo.com and I can show you a picture of it.
Reply:alright i'll break it down for you, from most common to rarest
no shine=no rare
silver lettering=rare
holographic picture=super rare
holographic picture+gold lettering=ultra rare
holographic picture+rainbow lettering=secret rare, game promo, or tin promo
ps, all mcdonalds cards are extremely rare, becouse you can't get them anymore, same thing with tin cards and game promos
Reply:OK. Here's the deal. To know the card if it is a super rare one, all you need to do is to ask the seller how much he buy this or what kind of card it is.
Reply:You should also know that they all have a holographic seal in the corner of each card, the first run of cards are gold seals, and all other printing are silver. If it does not have this holographic seal then it is a fake. The seal is very small, but is in the right hand corner if i remember right.
