What is the diffrence between 1st edition yu-gi-oh cards and ones that dont say it at all?

I am putting together a collection for my 10 year old son and was trying to put them in order as far as each diffrent set goes but some have 1st edition and others dont. where can i find a card list that shows the diffrence?

What is the diffrence between 1st edition yu-gi-oh cards and ones that dont say it at all?
1st Edition cards are from the first print run. In the past, short prints and super short prints were only printed in the 1st Edition of a set. Other than that there is no difference between 1st Edition and Unlimited(that's what all other print runs are called) card. It really only comes into play when people are trading for or selling cards with high values(i.e. Mirror Force, Zaborg The Thunder Monarch, etc).
Reply:It's all about the print runs and stuff, it would be hard explaining it. Its on the boxes too. I bet noone knows what a hobby box is!!
Reply:1st Edition cards are simply the first group of cards produced for a set. If 1st Edition is not present on the card, it is considered Unlimited. All booster sets and structure decks are printed as 1st Editions for the first few weeks they are made available. All others printed afterwards for that set are Unlimited editions. 1st Editions can only be founds within the first few weeks of availability. Unlimited editions can be found for months and sometimes years after release. 1st Edition cards are only really worth more to collectors and those who deem them "lucky" for tournament play :)

Hope this helps. Good luck and have fun.
Reply:Older sets when they were first released had the first several print runs marked as 1st edition and were the ones that were on the market for the first couple weeks of the new release. After a couple weeks, they would begin printing the cards again without the 1st edition marking. Therefore the limited number of 1st edition cards made them a little more valuable to collectors. How much more depended on the condition of the card, how useful the card was and how much the collector valued 1st edition over unlimited editions.
Reply:the 1st edition ones have a golden thing on the corner. the others have a silver one.
Reply:Well im not sure where u can find a list but i can tell u the difference. The difference is that 1st edition yu-gi-oh cards are rarer than the ones that dont say first edition. The ones that dont say first edition are considered unlimited which basically means that they are of less value and are a more common version of a card.
