What is the characteristic of a genuine yu-gi-oh card , particularly with regards to the holograms in corner?

I have cards that have the Yu-gi-oh holograms on the right hand corner, some r silver,some gold . Which ones r real , fake. Im confused

The gold just means that it is first edition, and the silver are unlimited edition. So they are both real cards, the first edition is the first run of cards. Any real yu-gi-oh card will have the eye hologram in the corner. Some first editions are more prized then the unlimited edition, but both are real cards.
Reply:right in terms of fake yu-gi-oh cards there are lots of things to look out for.





first about the holograme, it can either be gold or silver depending on what rareity the card is, these are not fake any other colour is, i saw a red one once.





second. the holograme should be well indented into the card, you should be able to run your finger along the card and not feel a change, if you can feel a bump more than 0.01mm thick the card is a fake.





Third, the picture of the card should always stay within the pic space, any card having pics extended or printed outside the box is fake.





Fourth, the colour on the outside of the card , eg, the colour indicating that is it a monster, magic or trap, should be slightly dark and should not be faded but recently the colour has faded on some new sets of cards so these are not fake.





misprinted cards, eg. a heavy storm card callled Bazoo the soul eater, are not REPEAT NOT FAKE but are not tournament legal, but do not trade any cos some are fake. but most are geniune misprints.





also backs of the cards should be a ( a bad description but should get the genual idea) black circle sourounded by the brown/red swirls, THE KUNAMI LOGA SHOULD BE IN TOP LEFT AND THE YU-GI LOGO SHOULD BE BOTTOM RIGHT any alterations are instantly fake.





God cards are not fake, but are not tournement legal, The fake ones are ones that say gold in the attribute not divine.
